And then there was the best friend who went on a downward spiral, dumping his friends for pints of alcohol and grams of cocaine

Who almost lost his life because he did not know when to stop and breathe

Born with a beautiful voice that could sing a story but lost his motivation to perform due to his lack of motivation to live

He was forced into a rehab that would hopefully restore the boy he once was

He spent his days denying his problem and his nights praying to a god he didn’t believe in

To that best friend, I hope you now find peace wherever you are 

It may not seem like it to everyone, but you fought your hardest

You were brave, resilient, full of life

I will spend the rest of my days making sure everyone remembers you for you, and not your addiction 

You are now a shining star amongst the aging stars in this vast universe 

Our fallen angel who will guide us through the night skies when times get too dark

May your light continue to burn and light those you leave behind a path to you when it is time. 

So long for now, but never goodbye ❤️
